In 1925, the Illinois Farm Bureau planted a seed that grew into what is now known as COUNTRY Financial®. Today, we are partnering to celebrate 100 years of COUNTRY with a temporary exhibit and related programming all year long.
Now on display in the north hallway of the Museum's first-floor Rotunda, this new temporary exhibit explores the history and evolution of COUNTRY, featuring artifacts from the Illinois Farm Bureau archives.
To ensure the entire community can explore the exhibit, COUNTRY is generously sponsoring FREE admission for all visitors every Tuesday in 2025 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
COUNTRY employees, representatives, and retirees can enjoy free admission every day of the week, all year long, plus 10% off any purchase in the Museum's Cruisin' with Lincoln on Route 66 Visitors Center & Gift Shop.
Additionally, COUNTRY is sponsoring the Museum's tri-annual magazine publication, On the Square, and will present during the Museum's monthly Lunch & Learn programming series on October 9, 2025, at 12:10 p.m. live in the Museum's Courtroom and online via youtube.com/mchistorymuseum. On Tuesday, September 16 at 6:30 p.m., Museum Librarian Bill Kemp will present a free public program on COUNTRY history, which will also take place in person and live online via youtube.com/mchistorymuseum.
We appreciate COUNTRY's partnership and financial investment in our work to preserve, educate, and collaborate in sharing the diverse stories of the people of McLean County. As an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, the McLean County Museum of History relies on support from individuals and organizations alike to continue meeting our mission.
