The McLean County Asian Indian History Project was begun in the early 2000s to research and document the culture and experience of Asian Indians who have settled in McLean County. The project also seeks to identify and collect artifacts, images, and documents associated with their culture and lives. These will be used in programming, exhibits and for future researchers.
The project is a cooperative endeavor between local Asian Indians organizations and the McLean County Historical Society.
The collection includes project organizational materials, newspaper articles, local Asian Indian run businesses, sports, music performances, etc. A series of oral histories completes the collection.
